Born on February 1, 1893. While studying sculpture at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts (now Tokyo University of the Arts), he became an apprentice to Suzuki Koson of the Kyogoku school of koto music. After graduating, he studied harp and sculpture in America and France. In 1931, he became the second master of the Kyogoku school. After the war, he was active in his hometown of Fukui Prefecture. He passed away on November 14, 1985, at the age of 92. His real name was Tonojiro. His works include "Mother and Child" and "Portrait of Okakura Tenshin."
