Amazon Plain - Amazon Heiya

...This plateau is also home to Brazil's highest mountain, Pico da Neblina (3,014m). The Amazon plain, which separates these two plateaus, is made up of a continuous plateau with a gentle slope toward the Amazon River. This plateau appeared when the waters of what was previously the Middle Sea flowed into the Atlantic Ocean as a result of the uplift of the Andes Mountains during the Tertiary Period.
