…これに対して〈餌香市〉〈阿斗桑市〉は，河内の交通の要地に立地した市であるが，河内以外にも《日本書紀》天武1年(672)7月壬子条にみえる近江の〈粟津市〉のごとく各地に市が存在していたとみてよい。　8世紀以降の奈良時代～平安初期においても，上述の市は存在し続けるが，それ以外にも《万葉集》に駿河国の〈安倍市〉，《日本霊異記》に美濃国の〈小川市〉，備後国の〈深津市〉，大和国の〈内(宇智)の市〉，紀伊国の〈市〉などが見える。このほか《風土記》にも商人の集まる場所が見えるから，各地に小規模な市が数多く存在したのであろう。…
