A term used in ukiyo-e. A type of ukiyo-e painting of beautiful women that is somewhere between the standard and the secret caricatures (→ shunga). The subject of the painting is a naked woman, such as a woman diver, a woman just after a bath, a woman cutting her nails, or a woman washing her hair, or a woman with more exposed flesh than usual. 浮世絵用語。浮世絵美人画のうち，一般的なものと秘戯画 (→春画 ) との中間の作品。海女，湯上がり姿，爪切り，髪洗いなど，女性の裸体，または普通よりも肉体部分をあらわにした女性の姿態を主題にしたもの。
