The town is located in Tomikawa at the mouth of the Saru River, Monbetsu at the mouth of the Monbetsu River, and Atsuga at the mouth of the Atsubetsu River, and is served by the Hidaka Main Line, National Route 235, and National Route 237. Monbetsu is the center of the town, but Tomikawa, a junction of the national routes, has been developing in recent years. …
