…From 1662 (Kanbun 2) for six years, 300 tons of copper was delivered to the Asakusa Imperial Storehouse every year, 1,300 tons in 1776 (Enpo 4), and 1,500 tons in 1884 (Jokyo 1). The 20 years from Kanbun to Jokyo were the heyday of the Ashio Copper Mine in the early modern period, and the mine enjoyed a prosperity known as "Ashio Senken."
