Japan's beer industry is a typical oligopoly, with only five companies producing beer: Kirin Brewery, Sapporo Brewery, Asahi Brewery, Suntory, and Orion Brewery of Okinawa Prefecture. However, since Orion Brewery's production volume is small, it is actually more accurate to say that there are only four companies.
