...Dam construction since 1916 has raised the lake's surface elevation from 725m to 736m. Water is conveyed from the intake on the south shore through a 5km-long tunnel to the Akimoto Power Station (maximum output 93,600kW), which uses a drop of 200m. The Bandai-Azuma Lake Line runs through the north of the lake, and the Nakatsugawa River, which flows into the north shore, is known for its beautiful valley.
