false fruit

Japanese: false fruit(英語表記)falsefruit
false fruit

...Some species, such as the Tessen and the Acanthus gracilis, have retained their style and grown together with the ovary, making them useful for dispersal. In this way, a fruit whose structure involves parts other than the ovary is called a false fruit, and a fruit consisting only of the ovary is sometimes called a true fruit. However, the distinction between the two is not always clear. For example, in the case of persimmons, the calyx grows significantly, making it a false fruit, while in mandarin oranges, the calyx hardly grows at all, so calling it a true fruit is too artificial.
