A bivalve mollusc of the Bivalve family of the Pectinidae family. It is a northern form of the Azumani mussel, found in Hokkaido and the Tohoku region, and attaches to rocky bottoms about 10 meters deep from the intertidal zone with its byssus. Its shell length is about 75 mm, and its shell height is about 80 mm. Its adductor muscle is delicious, and it was once cultivated in the Tohoku region using the hanging method.
