Account executive

Japanese: アカウント・エグゼクティブ（英語表記）account executive

Usually referred to as an AE, this is a unique job title within an advertising agency. It refers to a person who stands between the advertising agency and the client advertiser, acting as a bridge between the two parties to mediate their interests and ensure the smooth execution of operations. Literally translated, it would be "client executive," but as the term suggests, they are not simply liaison personnel; they are expected to play a comprehensive role in advising, planning, and executing everything from marketing strategies to advertising work. There is also a growing movement within the systems and information industries to introduce the AE system as a customer support measure.

通常AEと呼ぶ。広告代理店における固有の職名。広告代理店と得意先広告主の間に立って、両者の懸橋となって、利害の調整と業務の円滑な遂行を果たす役目をもった人のこと。直訳すれば「得意先担当重役」となるが、この言葉が示すように、単なる連絡員ではなく、マーケティング戦略から広告作業に至るまで、助言や企画および、その遂行を可能とする総合的な役割が望まれている。システム産業や情報産業でも、顧客対策として、AE制を導入しようとする動きが高まっている。
