Aoshima Shrine

Located in Aoshima, Miyazaki City. It enshrines Amatsuhidakahikohohodemi-no-mikoto, Toyotamahime-no-mikoto, and Shiozutsuno-okami. The founding date is unknown, but according to the shrine's history, ancient books state that Aoshima Daimyojin was worshiped during the reign of Emperor Saga (reigned 809-842). Tropical and subtropical plants flourish on Aoshima within the shrine grounds. Since the Bunki era (1501-1504), the Ito clan has revered the shrine, and the shrine has been renovated many times. The annual festival is held on October 18th. The spring festival is held on March 16th, the summer festival on June 17th and 18th, and the winter festival on December 17th.

宮崎市青島に鎮座。天津日高彦火火出見命(あまつひだかひこほほでみのみこと)、豊玉姫命(とよたまひめのみこと)、塩筒大神(しおづつのおおかみ)を祀(まつ)る。創建年代は不詳であるが、社伝によれば、嵯峨(さが)天皇（在位809～842）のときに、青島大明神(みょうじん)を崇(あが)め祀ったことが、古書にみえるという。境内地の青島には、熱帯および亜熱帯植物が繁茂する。文亀(ぶんき)年間（1501～1504）以降は伊東藩の崇敬が厚く、たびたび社殿の改築が行われた。例祭は10月18日。旧3月16日に春祭、旧6月17、18日に夏祭、旧12月17日に冬祭が行われる。
