A method of foreign exchange trading in which buying and selling are carried out separately. In foreign exchange trading, swap transactions, in which spot goods are bought and sold on the condition that futures goods are bought and sold, are common in order to avoid exchange rate fluctuation risks as much as possible, but outright transactions are transactions in which selling or buying is carried out separately. Swap transactions do not result in long or short positions, but outright transactions do result in long or short positions. In interbank trading, spot foreign exchange transactions and swap transactions at the spot market are the norm, and it can be said that there are almost no outright transactions after the spot value.

外国為替取引の一方法で，売り買いを単独に行う取引のこと。為替取引の場合，為替変動リスクを極力回避するために，先物の売り買いを条件として直物の売り買いをするスワップ取引が一般的であるが，アウトライト取引は売りあるいは買いをあくまでも単独でする取引。スワップ取引だと買い持ちあるいは売り持ちは生じないが，アウトライト取引だと買いあるいは売り持ちポジションが生じてしまう。銀行間取引の場合，スポット相場での直物為替取引やスワップ取引が中心で，スポットバリュー以降のアウトライト取引はほとんどないといっていい。
