Aino Isthmus - Ainochikyo

...occupies the entire area of ​​Shimabara City and Minamitakaki County. It borders Shimabara Bay to the north and east, Hayasaki Seto to the south, and Tachibana Bay to the west, and is connected to the main part of the Hizen Peninsula by the Aino Isthmus, about 3 km wide, in the northwest. The central part of the peninsula is made up of the Unzen volcanic group, with Mount Fugen (1,359 m) as its main peak.
