According to Mashiho Chiri, Tuitaku is a transformation of ru-itak, which means to tell a story with some rhythm, and is the name given to the yukar sa-ko-ye (saying with rhythm) style of storytelling. It is divided into Kamuy Tuitaku (or Kamuy Uwepekere) and Ainu Tuitaku.
