The Pre-Jomon Ainu Theory

Japanese: アイヌ先縄文説 - あいぬせんじょうもんせつ
The Pre-Jomon Ainu Theory

[Jomon people]
Tsuboi Shogoro claims that the Koropokkuru (little people under butterbur) that appear in Ainu myths are the bearers of Jomon culture, and were eventually banished to the north. Koganei Ryosei advocates the Ainu Pre-Jomon theory, which says that the Ainu were the first to inhabit the area during the Jomon period, but were pushed into Hokkaido by immigrants. Seino Kenji presents the Original Japanese theory, which says that the common ancestor of the Ainu and modern Japanese has undergone physical changes over a long history of interbreeding.
