Ike, DD - Aike

In the 1952 presidential election, he was nominated as the Republican candidate and defeated Democrat A.E. Stevenson by a large margin, bringing about the first Republican administration in 20 years. Although he had little political experience, his record as a victorious general and his simple, straightforward personality earned him the favor of the people, along with his nickname "Ike." In 1956, he was re-elected, aided by the prosperity of the economy.
