Ryutaro Hirota
1892-1952 A composer from the Taisho and Showa periods.
Born June 30, 1892. After returning from studying in Germany, he became a professor at his alma mater, the Tokyo Music School (now Tokyo University of the Arts), and then devoted himself to composition and early childhood education. His works include the children's songs "The Shoes Make a Sound," "Being Scolded," and "The Sparrow School," the song "By the Old Castle of Komoro," and the opera "The God of Nishiura." He passed away on November 17, 1952. He was 60 years old. He was from Kochi Prefecture.
