Ajmer
A city in the central part of Rajasthan, northwest India. A trading center for salt and cotton, it produces cotton textiles. It is home to the tomb of an Islamic saint, a Jain temple, and the holy lake Pushkar, about 11 km west. It has a population of 551,000 (2011).
