yaylak

Japanese: yaylak
yaylak

...After the end of the 16th century, some of the Turkmen in Eastern Anatolia migrated westward and mixed with the Yuruk, but the background to this is related to the westward movement of Anatolian trade routes. The nomadic lifestyle was based on moving between winter camps (kışlak) and summer camps (yaylak) to feed their livestock. The winter camps were on plains at an altitude of several hundred meters, where they waited for the lambing to occur, and from the end of April they moved to summer camps at an altitude of 2,000 to 3,000 meters. In the summer camps, dairy products were produced by milking the cows, and large cities were often formed there.
