...A species of bird in the passerine family Hirundinidae, or a general term for birds in the family Hirundinidae. The white-breasted wood-swallow Artamus leucorhynchus (illustration) is about 17 cm long. The back of the bird, except for the head, neck, and lower back, is gray-black, the back is slightly brown, and the lower back, upper tail coverts, and underside below the chest are white.
