In sculpture, there were Cellini, who refined the techniques of the High Renaissance and, like Parmigianino, valued aesthetic fantasy, Bartolomeo Ammanati (1511-92), and Giovanni da Bologna, who reached the highest level of virtuosity somewhat later. Alessandro Vittoria (1525-1608) and Sansovino of Venice could be said to be in the position of Titian in painting. From this legacy, Bernini created Baroque sculpture.
