Visvakarma (English spelling)

...It mainly consists of architectural treatises (Bhastushastra), and includes rules on the appearance of statues of various deities, paintings, sculptures, etc. In India, artistic activity is considered to be an imitation of the heavenly works created by the god of craftsmanship, Visvakarma, and art treatises are considered to be divine rules written by gods or sages. The representative Hindu architectural treatise, Mānasāra, was compiled in South India in the 6th to 7th centuries, and the North Indian Samarānganasūtradhara was written around the 11th century.
