Amino Resin - Amino Resin

A general term for thermosetting resins produced by the reaction of amine or amide compounds with aldehydes. Examples include urea resins, aniline-formaldehyde resins, melamine resins, guanamine resins, and thiourea resins. Formaldehyde is mainly used as the aldehyde. When an amino compound or amide compound reacts with formaldehyde, formaldehyde is added to the nitrogen atom to produce a methylol compound (hydroxymethyl compound). When a methylol compound is heated in the presence of an acid catalyst, it crosslinks and hardens. It is also used alone or mixed with alkyd resins to form aminoalkyd resins. It is used as a molding material, paint, adhesive, binder, etc., and aminoalkyd resins in particular can be heated and hardened at low temperatures in a short time. It is transparent and has good color fastness, and is excellent in terms of abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, and flame retardancy, so it is used as an embossed paint.

アミンあるいはアミド化合物とアルデヒドの反応によって生成する熱硬化性樹脂の総称．尿素樹脂，アニリン-ホルムアルデヒド樹脂，メラミン樹脂，グアナミン樹脂，チオ尿素樹脂などがこのなかに含まれる．アルデヒドとしては，おもにホルムアルデヒドが用いられる．アミノ化合物またはアミド化合物とホルムアルデヒドの反応により，窒素原子にホルムアルデヒドが付加してメチロール体(ヒドロキシメチル化合物)を生成する．メチロール化合物を酸触媒の存在下で加熱すると，橋かけして硬化する．単独あるいはアルキド樹脂と混合してアミノアルキド樹脂としても用いられる．成形材料，塗料，接着剤，バインダーなどに用いられ，とくにアミノアルキド樹脂は低温短時間の加熱硬化が可能である．透明で耐変色性が良好で，耐摩耗性，耐薬品性，難燃性などの点ですぐれ，エンボス加工塗料として用いられる．
