Visa Card (English)

...By the time of its merger with Bank of America of California in 1930, the bank had built an extensive branch network that would become the basis of the current Bank of America. In 1936, the bank was taken over by his son, Lawrence Mario Giannini (1894-1952), who continued the tradition of retail banking and pioneered personal and mortgage financing, developing the BankAmerica Card (later the Visa Card) in 1958. Meanwhile, after the development of the aircraft industry on the Pacific coast during World War II, lending to the heavy industry sector expanded dramatically. Although somewhat delayed, the bank also made an active effort to expand its overseas branch network in the 1960s, and as a result grew into one of the world's leading banks with approximately 2,000 branches in Japan and over 100 branches overseas.
