Veneer

…Generally, it refers to a board made by stacking thin boards of wood (0.5 to 4 mm thick), called veneers, and gluing them together to make a single board. Usually, the grain direction of each veneer is perpendicular to each other (see figure). The veneers are assembled in a symmetrical structure with respect to the center of the thickness to maintain the stability of the plywood, and therefore an odd number of boards are usually used.
