Trimalchio

...Others, when they had to urinate, would not even get up from their bed, but would relieve themselves in a urinal given to them by a slave. The height of foolish extravagance to show off wealth was the banquet held by the freed slave Trimalchio in Petronius' Satyricon. There, not only were delicacies served, but various other elaborate dishes were also served, such as a large tray representing the sky with dishes related to each of the constellations on it, and a peacock's egg taken out from under a wooden hen with a cooked bird curled up inside it. The banquet would end and then begin again, with a total of 62 kinds of food and drink being served....
