Hai-dong-qing; Hai-tung-ch`ing

Japanese: 海東青 - かいとうせい（英語表記）Hai-dong-qing; Hai-tung-ch`ing

A type of hawk. Also called the Haidong Blue Hawk or Haiqing. Scientific name: gylfalco . Used for hunting. Also, fur coats made from its feathers are said to be highly prized. Originates from Primorsky Krai. The nobles and princes of the Liao dynasty used it for falconry, and ordered the Jurchens to offer it to them, forcing them to make great sacrifices. This was one of the reasons why Wanyan Aguda (Wanyan Aguda) opposed Liao independence (foundation of the Jin dynasty). At the end of the Yuan dynasty, the same order from Emperor Shun's court led to a rebellion by the Weji wild people. It was used as a hunting bird until the beginning of the Qing dynasty.

タカの一種。海東青鶻 (かいとうせいこつ) ，海青ともいう。学名 gylfalco。狩猟用。またその羽でつくった裘 (きゅう。衣のこと) は，はなはだ珍貴であるという。沿海州方面の産。遼の王侯貴族は鷹狩に愛用，女真にその献上を命じて多大の犠牲を払わせ，ワンヤンアクダ (完顔阿骨打)の反遼独立 (金朝建国) の一因となった。元末にも順帝の宮廷の同じ命令が吾者 (ウェジ Weji) 野人の反乱を招いた。清初まで猟鳥として使われた。
