Ai Siki - Gaishiki

Chinese philosopher and Marxist theorist. His real name was Li Shengxuan. He was born in Tengchong County, Yunnan Province. He studied in Hong Kong and Kunming before moving to Japan. After returning to China in 1931, he edited the magazine Reading Life and was active in the New Enlightenment Movement, writing Popular Philosophy (1934-1935) and many other essays, and working to popularize historical materialism. After the liberation, he held various important positions and was active in criticizing Hu Shi, Liang Shuming, and Yang Xianzhen (1896-1992), but he died of illness on March 22, 1966. After his death, Ai Siqi's Collected Works (People's Publishing House) was published.

中国の哲学者、マルクス主義理論家。本名は李生萱(りせいけん)。雲南(うんなん)省騰冲(とうちゅう)県出身。香港(ホンコン)・昆明(こんめい)などで学んだのち、日本に留学。1931年帰国後、雑誌『読書生活』の編集をしながら、新啓蒙(けいもう)運動のなかで活躍し、『大衆哲学』（1934～1935）ほか多数の論文を書き、史的唯物論の普及に努めた。解放後はさまざまの要職につきながら、胡適(こてき)、梁漱溟(りょうそうめい)、楊献珍(ようけんちん)（1896―1992）批判などで活躍したが、1966年3月22日病没した。没後『艾思奇文集』（人民出版社）が刊行された。
