...In the Japanese archipelago, a duckbill humerus was reported to have been found in 1962 in a sandstone layer 917 meters underground in the Mitsubishi Takashima Mine Futago Shaft in Takashima-cho, Nishisonogi-gun, Nagasaki Prefecture. The first dinosaur in Honshu was discovered in 1979 in the Lower Cretaceous in Mogoshi, Iwaizumi-cho, Shimohei-gun, Iwate Prefecture, a species of Mamenchisaurus , the largest saurischian in Asia. In 1983, the first carnivorous dinosaur was reported in Kumamoto Prefecture, and was also found in Gunma Prefecture.
