Moreau, who had been given a liberal education and who himself, in his later years, showed colors and brushstrokes that were the precursors of Fauvism in his watercolors and other works, namely Matisse, Marquet, Charles Camoin (1879-1964), and Henri Charles Manguin (1874-1949).
