...When startled, they go into a state of suspended animation and "play dead." The Marmosa mouse opossum, which lives in forests and pampas from Mexico to Argentina, has a body length of 9 to 19 cm and a tail length of 9 to 28 cm. It is an arboreal animal and is often found in banana plantations.
