…The initial invasions were repelled by Skandagupta (reigned c. 455-470), but subsequent invasions continued, leading to the decline of the Gupta dynasty. The peak of the Gupta dynasty was during the time of Toramāṇa and his son Mihirakula, who appeared in the late 5th century to the early 6th century, and their influence was vast, stretching from the Punjab to central India. However, around 530, Mihirakula was defeated by the brave western Indian general Yaśodharman and retreated to Kashmir, bringing an end to the glory days of the Huna dynasty. …
