Temperate summer rainy climate - Ontainatsuamekiko

A temperate climate with a dry winter and lots of rain in the summer. Also called a warm winter with little rain. It has a Cw climate in the Köppen climate classification, and is typically found in southwestern China. This climate region has a wide variety of agricultural products, just like the Mediterranean climate, and in the south, tobacco, cotton, corn, wheat, barley, oats, and potatoes are cultivated. This region also has large regional differences in climate due to the distance from the coast and changes in topography. It is widely distributed in mainland China, as well as northern India, the Ethiopian Plateau, the plateau of South Africa, the Mexican Plateau, the southern part of the Brazilian Plateau, and northeastern Australia. With the exception of some areas, the population density is not very high, but it also includes areas where culture has flourished since ancient times.

温帯気候のうち、主として冬が乾期で夏に雨が多い気候。温暖冬季少雨気候ともいう。ケッペンの気候区分でのCw気候で、代表的な地域として中国南西部にみられる。この気候地域は地中海性気候と同じく農産物の種類が多く、南方ではタバコ、ワタ、トウモロコシ、小麦、大麦、エンバク、ジャガイモなどが栽培される。海岸からの距離や地形の変化などにより、気候の地域差が大きい地域でもある。中国大陸のほか、インド北部、エチオピア高原、南アフリカの台地、メキシコ高原、ブラジル高原南部、オーストラリア北東部などに広く分布する。一部を除き人口密度はそれほど高くはないが、古くから文化の栄えた所も含んでいる。
