Bonnie and Clyde - Bonnie and Clyde

American film. 1967. Directed by Arthur Penn. A monumental work that heralded the arrival of American New Cinema. The final years of Bonnie Parker (1910-1934) and Clyde Barrow (1909-1934), a real bank robber couple who lived in the early 1930s during the Great Depression, are depicted with a fresh sensibility and vivid violence. The super slow-motion final scene, in which the pair are shot with 87 bullets, became a hot topic and was called the "Dance of Death." The screenplay was written by young journalists David Newman (1937-2003) and Robert Benton (1932-), and produced by one of the stars, Warren Beatty (1937-). Directed by Arthur Penn, a director of the new generation of Hollywood. Thanks to the excellent performances of young actors who would lead the next generation, such as Faye Dunaway (1941- ) and Gene Hackman (1930- ), the film left a strong impression. It won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress (Estelle Parsons, 1927- ) and Best Cinematography.
