[ I ] Abbreviation for 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol. C ₁₅ H ₁₁ N ₃ O (249.27). Obtained by coupling 2-naphthol with 2-pyridineazonium salt. Orange-yellow needle crystals. Melting point: 137°C. Sparingly soluble in water, soluble in organic solvents. Used as a metal indicator in EDTA titration of Zn, Cd, Cu, In, etc., and as a colorimetric reagent for V, Co, Pd, Rh, and Fe ²⁺ . [CAS 85-85-8] [ II ] Abbreviation for peroxyacetyl nitrate. CH ₃ CO･OONO ₂ (121.05). One of the harmful components of photochemical smog. Irritates the eyes.
