Also known as OR (short for operations research). A scientific method for finding the most efficient way to operate a system of human behavior. It was developed as a military tactical method by American and British scientists during World War II. After the war, it was applied to the field of management systems for general companies, and many methods were developed, including linear programming, game theory, Monte Carlo method, queuing theory, inventory control, search theory, dynamic programming, and simulation.
