Even after World War I, Milan was home to a dynamic school of abstract painting led by Enrico Prampolini (1894-1956), who continued the Futurist lineage, and Atanasio Soldati (1896-1953). On the other hand, Italy also had a lineage of representative 20th century figurative art, including A. Modigliani, G. Morandi, G. de Chirico, as well as sculptors M. Marini, Pericle Fazzini (1913- ), and G. Manzu.
