Miniature Pinscher (species)

Japanese: ミニチュア･ピンシェル[種]（英語表記）miniature pinscher

A pet dog that originated in Germany. It is so similar to the Doberman that it looks like a small Doberman Pinscher, but it is a completely different breed and has been kept in Germany and Scandinavian countries for several centuries before the Doberman. Its origins are unknown. Like the Doberman, the habit of cropping its ears and tails is also practiced, and it has a light and graceful gait. It has a gentle personality, but is also bold and alert, making it a reliable guard dog. Its coat is short and smooth, and its coat color is dark red bay, black and tan, or dark brown with a dark yellow marking.

原産地がドイツの愛玩犬。小型ドーベルマン･ピンシェルそのものと見えるほどドーベルマンに似ているが，まったく別の犬種で，ドーベルマンより数世紀も古くからドイツや北欧諸国で飼われていた。起源は不明である。断耳，断尾の習慣もドーベルマンと同様で，歩様も軽快，華麗である。性格は穏和である一方，大胆で警戒心が強く，番犬としても頼もしい。被毛は短く滑らかで，毛色は濃い赤鹿毛，ブラック･タン(黒と茶褐色)，濃褐色に渋い黄色のマークなどである。
