Scopoletin

...The herbal medicines of Kawaraninjin, Artemisia anguicidae, and two other closely related species are called Seiko. Kawaraninjin contains coumarins such as scopoletin and sesquiterpenes, while Artemisia anguicidae contains flavonoids and sesquiterpenes such as arteannuin. In combination with other herbal medicines, it is used as an antipyretic, cholesteatotic, and hemostatic drug for fevers of 37-38°C that do not go down for days, night sweats, malaria, chronic infectious hepatitis, hemorrhoids, nosebleeds, and postpartum hemostasis.
