Singularism

...a standpoint that seeks to unify and explain the various phenomena of the world and life in terms of their aspects or wholeness from a single (Greek monos) origin, that is, a principle or reality. Also called singularism, it is opposed to dualism and pluralism, which recognize two or more principles or realities. As a philosophical term, it was established in the early modern period, when C. Wolff was the first to call philosophers who postulate a single type of substance monists.
