Other instruments that are included in this type of idiophone include the ancient Egyptian sistrum, which is made by shaking a metal frame with a few thin metal rods or metal rings loosely threaded through it, and the Japanese naruko, which is made of wood or bamboo and has a rope attached to it to make it sound indirectly.
