Stamen (English spelling)

Japanese: おしべ(雄蕊) - おしべ（英語表記）stamen

Also called "yuzui." A male organ that is one of the components that make up the flower of a seed plant, it consists of an anther (microsporophore) that contains pollen and a filament (microsporophyll) that supports it. It is morphologically homologous to the microsporophylls of the heterosporous ferns. Due to their rod-like shape, stamens are considered to be derived from axial organs, with sporophore attached to the end of the axis, as in Rhynia and Pinus serrata. Indeed, the male flowers of the Gnetophyte class, which is a type of gymnosperm, can be considered to have sporophore attached on the axis due to their structure.

〈ゆうずい〉ともいう。種子植物の花を構成する要素のうちの雄性器官で，花粉を入れる葯anther(小胞子囊)とそれを支える花糸filament(小胞子葉)からなる。異型胞子性シダ植物群の小胞子葉と形態的に相同である。おしべはその棒状の形からライニア，マツバランなどのように軸の先端に胞子囊がついたものであり，軸的器官に由来するとみる考え方がある。たしかに裸子植物の一つであるグネツム綱の雄花はその構成から軸上に胞子囊がついているとみなしうる。
