…A new Japanese theater company of the Taisho period, named after the Stage Society, which was founded in London in 1899 and played a key role in the modern British theater movement. It was founded in 1913 (Taisho 2) by young members of the Bungei Kyokai (Literary Association) (Kato Seiichi, Sasaki Tsumuri, Yamada Takaya, Yoshida Kozaburo, etc.) just after the latter's dissolution, and held its first performance at the Imperial Theater on November 28 of the same year, featuring GB Shaw's The Devil's Disciple and other plays. …
