Subluxation

…Dislocations are classified as traumatic, congenital, and pathological, but they occur when the relative relationship of the joint surfaces is disturbed due to damage or loosening of the joint capsule or ligaments, causing the joint surfaces to shift from one to the other. A complete dislocation occurs when the head of the bone (articular head) and the articular cavity that receives it are no longer in agreement, and a subluxation occurs when there is partial contact between the two surfaces.
