[Tabetic ataxia]
It is caused by disorders of deep sensations such as joint position sense and motor sense, and is commonly seen in pathological conditions in which deep sensations are impaired. The most classic cause is tabes dorsalis, but similar phenomena can also be seen in spinocerebellar degeneration such as Friedreich's disease, polyneuritis or polyradiculoneuritis such as diabetes and Guillain-Barré syndrome, subacute combined cord degeneration seen in vitamin _B12 deficiency, and spinal tumors.
