...On February 19, 1876, the Khanate was occupied by Russian troops and destroyed. Soviet power was established on December 7, 1917, but prior to that, on November 26, bourgeois nationalist forces held a special local Muslim conference, proclaimed autonomy for Turkestan, and established a government called the Kokandskaya Avtonomiya. This government was overthrown by the Red Guards on February 19-22, 1918.
