Kangshungtse

…In 1980, an American team succeeded in ascending the west ridge, in the spring of 1981 an Austrian team from the northwest ridge, and in the autumn of the same year a joint Polish-British team from the west face, all of whom succeeded in ascending the summit alone without oxygen. The second peak, 3km north of Makalu, is called Kangshungtse and has an elevation of 7,659m. It was first summited by a French team in 1954. …
