Japanese: 旭化成工業[株] - あさひかせいこうぎょう

A comprehensive chemical company that grew from a textile manufacturer. Headquartered in Kita-ku, Osaka, with its main factory in Nobeoka. It began when Noguchi Jun of Nippon Chisso Fertilizer (now Chisso) established Asahi Silk Weaving Co., Ltd., which produced viscose rayon, in May 1922. Noguchi also introduced the Italian Casale method of ammonia synthesis to build the Nobeoka Ammonia Plant of Nippon Chisso Fertilizer Co., Ltd., which successfully completed a trial run in 1948. In 1954, using technology from Germany's Bemberg, Nippon Bemberg Silk Thread Co., Ltd. was established to manufacture cuprammonium silk thread, and a factory was built adjacent to the Nobeoka Plant (with the aim of using the ammonia from the plant as a raw material), with production commencing in 1956.

繊維メーカーから成長した総合化学会社。本社大阪市北区，主力工場延岡市。日本窒素肥料(現，チッソ)の野口遵が1922年5月，ビスコースレーヨンの生産を行う旭絹織(株)を設立したことに始まる。また野口はイタリアのカザレー式アンモニア合成法を導入して日窒肥料(株)延岡アンモニア工場を建設，23年試運転に成功した。29年にはドイツのベンベルグ社から技術導入して銅アンモニア絹糸製造の日本ベンベルグ絹糸(株)を設立，延岡工場(原料として同工場のアンモニアを利用することを想定)に隣接して工場を建設，31年に製造を開始した。
