…In ancient Greek it was Hellas, in modern Greek it is spelled the same but pronounced Eras. In Latin it was Graecia, and in modern European languages many of them are derived from Latin, but some are also derived from Greek.

…the name used by the ancient Greeks as a general term for their own people. The land in which they lived was called Hellas. In the poetry of Homer and Hesiod, the term Panhellenes was first used, and eventually Hellenes alone came to refer to the Greek people, as opposed to barbarians, who referred to other peoples.
